The Frankie Sixes
The Frankie Sixes are currently one of the most prominent swing jazz combos in Malaysia, as well as a rising star in the South East Asian/East Asian lindy hop live music scene. Formed in 2017, the 6-piece band is made up of Ee Jeng on piano, Che Wan on double bass, KJ on drums, Eddy Lim on sax, Isaac Marvin on trumpet and led by indie folk singer-songwriter Reza Salleh on vocals are passionate about pushing Malaysian swing jazz, having released two original swing tune EPs in 2023 and 2024, and one live standards album in 2025.
They maintain close lindy ties in the region, with a lindy hop music video for singles "Tepuk Amai-Amai" and "Kaki Kiri Ku" both featuring more than 100 dancers from over 10 countries. Using swing jazz as a vehicle to tell Malaysian stories and anecdotes, locally they have performed at events such as Publika Jazz Fest, Iskandar Puteri Jazz Festival, Malaysia Jazz Piano Festival, KL Swing Fest, Urbanscapes Festival and internationally in Thailand (Swingmania, Rising Bangkok, Swing Era), Taiwan (Taiwan Lantern Festival, Friday Swing 3rd Anniversary), Korea (Club Monk, Haeundae Jazz Festival) and China (Hop The Bay). Expect to hear some original swing jazz laced with classic standards and be prepared to move your feet!
