CODE OF CONDUCT

Frankie 11x is dedicated to provide a safe, inclusive, and comfortable dancing experience for everyone, and it is important that everyone in this community complies with this Code of Conduct. This Code of Conduct has the goal of giving clear guidelines and expectations to everyone who is or might be interested in Swing dancing.

All interactions at Indoswing should be consensual

Do not make advances towards other dancers and any predatory behavior will be addressed immediately.

2

No unsolicited feedback

Unless you are asked for feedback, do not offer unsolicited advice to other people both in classes or on the social dance floor.

3

Safety first

We prioritize safety of ourselves and fellow dancers by being mindful of our space and steps (especially when dancing in a crowded space). This helps us prevent physical injuries, especially on smaller dance floors. If you feel uncomfortable doing any particular moves that potentially injure yourself, communicate the issue to your dancing partner in a respectful manner.

Notes on aerial moves:
We know that aerials are fun and look great, but we ask that you refrain from aerials during any social dances. Other than in a jam circle (with a trusted partner) or performances, aerials are not allowed on the dance floor.

4

It's OK to say no

Every interaction at our events, classes or social dances needs to happen with consent from both parties. It’s okay to say no to a dance, and to tell your partner if something is uncomfortable or hurtful. When you ask somebody to dance, make sure you leave space for them to agree or turn down your request – and be ok with either answer. Some people prefer to be asked verbally and not only through body language; ask for clarification if your partner’s answer or body language is not clear to you.

5

Always Be respectful

Swing dancing is a social dance — we expect you to be considerate and respectful of yourself, your partners and others; we expect you to refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behaviour and speech. If something doesn’t feel right, please speak up and alert any Indoswing staff if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.
